Affle (India) Limited, a leading global technology business, won three major awards at the 3rd edition of Digixx Awards’19. The company was awarded Gold in Digital Marketing Excellence in Technology for its mobile fraud detection platform, mFaaS. We believe mFaaS sets us apart from our competitors as it offers a real time solution for addressing fraud, which is a major issue for online advertising.
mFaaS detects & blocks fraudulent non-human activities through various proprietary algorithms in live campaigns. It also helps advertising agencies, advertising networks and publishers to optimize spend on marketing for their customers by helping weed out significant amounts of fraudulent traffic. Affle has already applied for seven patents for many of these algorithms which helps it differentiate human and non-human interactions and also check for instances of click, install, event and IP address-based ad fraud.

Streaming shows find market in small towns
Publication- Livemint
Edition- Online
Date- 08 April, 2019
On-demand video streaming is no longer restricted to India’s top cities. Even relatively small towns are taking to video streaming in a big way as smartphones become cheaper, data becomes affordable and content is customized to suit the tastes of their residents. Sadaf Mirza, a 26-year-old resident of Patna, spends all her day studying for the upcoming civil service examinations in June. But nearly an hour post dinner is devoted to her favourite shows on Netflix, Amazon and ZEE5. Mirza has watched Sacred Games, Love Per Square Foot, Lust Stories, Black Earth Risingand Selection Day on her Samsung mobile phone.
“These (homes in smaller towns) are predominantly single television households, which means that the mobile phone is one of the most liberating screens for an individual. With data charges having dropped by over 90% in the last two years and the amount of data available in a specific pack increased by 13-14 times, the biggest consumption has come from these places," said Neeraj Roy, managing director and CEO of Hungama Digital Media that runs the Hungama app.

Date- 07 April, 2019
While the healthcare industry is rapidly adopting new-age technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve access and outcomes especially in the rural areas, companies must ensure that the technology acts with responsibility and transparency, say experts.
In recent years, India has seen IoT adoption in education, governance and financial services. The technology has also enabled doctors see and interact with patients in remote telemedicine centres - with the case history and medical data automatically transmitted to the doctor for analysis.
"India has an acute shortage of doctors which impacts both the quality and reach of healthcare services in rural and urban centres," John Samuel, Managing Director (health and public service) at Accenture, told IANS.

Are We in a Blockchain Winter?
Publication- PC Magazine
Edition- Online
Date- 08 April, 2019
A while back, a PR rep offered me an interview with the CEO of a blockchain company about how decentralized social-media platforms could halt and reverse the "echo chamber" effect. OpinionsWhat made the pitch intriguing was that it made no mention of blockchain, even though the company was clearly a blockchain startup. Instead, the rep presented the company's product simply as an "unstoppable network."
Although blockchain is a key component of its platform, according to a whitepaper, the company also made scant mention of it on its website. Instead there were plenty of choice keywords that pointed to a connection with blockchain technology, such as "decentralized," "unstoppable," "censorship-resistant," and "surveillance-resistant."
