Ericsson, Smile Foundation expand mobile health clinics program

Ericsson and Smile Foundation on Monday expanded their mobile health clinic program across India and said that the initiative is now live in Noida, Gurugram, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai and Pune. "The project was first launched in 2015 to address the primary healthcare needs of daily wage earners living in underprivileged communities. Based on the impact of the program, it has been extended to more locations now and will bring health services to the doorstep of people in need," according to a release.
The statement added that the program is now live in Noida, Gurugram, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai and Pune. Under the program, each mobile healthcare van is equipped to serve nearly 1,500 people each month. The vans will visit multiple locations in these cities on a fortnightly basis, it said. "Through this program, our intention is to bring quality healthcare at the doorstep of underprivileged communities...And because medical care is at their doorstep, they do not have to miss their daily work. The program is having a significant impact amongst the communities and has so far benefited over 350,000 people," Ericsson India Global Services Managing Director Amitabh Ray said.

Accenture to support promising startups with deep tech capabilities

Global management consultancy Accenture is continuing its involvement in the development of digital expertise in India, most recently through the second edition of its Applied Intelligence, designed to identify promising tech startups in the country. Results of the challenge will be announced later this week.
The contest is organised by the firm’s Accenture Ventures vertical, and looks to single out startups in the country that have promising and innovative ideas when it comes to business to business (B2B) models in the Industry 4.0 domain. Specific areas of desired expertise include artificial intelligence, data analytics and automation.
Eligible candidates for the contest include B2B startups that have generated revenues in excess of $100,000 over the last financial year. Over two rounds of assessment by Accenture executives, the submissions are evaluated on the basis of their level of innovation, market contribution and the broader applicability across larger markets.
